PerformanceOn tracks with intense sub-bass, like The Knife's "Silent Shout," the Reflect delivers thunderous lows, and can do so at high volumes (far beyond the limit of safe listening) without distorting. Holding down either button only adjusts the volume a single increment, which is not the case with most iOS remotes. In other words, you cannot adjust the volume rapidly by holding down the + or - buttons you can only tap it to raise or lower the volume in set increments. One minor annoyance with the remote on the iOS version-when used with an Apple iPhone 5s, the Volume buttons only worked in single clicks. The Apple version, which we tested, has Volume controls, as well as a single button for playing/pausing music, answering/ending calls, and track navigation, depending on how many times you press it.

Both the Apple and Android remote control versions are situated on the left ear's cable. The Reflect ships with an extension cable that extends the audio cable to a more typical length. It includes a shirt clip, as well as an inline remote control and microphone.

The audio cable is short and ideal for fitness armband phone holders-it ends around waist-level, with no slack.

I'm sure after wearing these multiple times, it's a routine anyone would get used to, but the Reflect seems to need a little more user effort to create a proper in-ear seal than most earphones we test. Basically, I had to press the eartips into my canals with force, then with more pressure, twist them until they created a good seal. The fins that sit against your ears for added stability wouldn't stay in place no matter what size I tried (three pairs-small, medium, and large-ship with the earphones). Once you fiddle with the earpieces long enough to get them to fit, the Reflect stays in place quite nicely, though at first I thought there was something wrong with the replaceable eartips. The ends of each earpiece are magnetic, which lets them snap together for easy stowing. The earphones are offered in a bright neon green (which also helps), reddish-pink, light blue, or black. DesignAs one might expect, the Synchros Reflect's name refers to the reflective band along the audio cable that will make you more visible to drivers, bikers, and other joggers when you're out exercising.
